This is the official journal of the Tennessee Communication Association. All forms of communication inquiry and methodologies are accepted. It is a peer reviewed journal. From 1975 to 1988, the journal was previously titled The Journal of the Tennessee Speech Communication Association.

 

About the Journal (Historical)

From 1975 to 1988, the journal was previously titled The Journal of the Tennessee Speech Communication Association. This version was a print-only, membership based journal with ISSN 0890-6394. With a Digital Seed Grant Award from Digital Scholarship Initaitives at Walker Library (MTSU), all fourteen volumes were digitized including detailed metadata of individual articles. Those fourteen volumes are now accessible digitally on this site. There are future plans to continue the journal on this site with the new title, Tennesseee Communication Association (TCA) Journal.

About the Journal (Current) 

The Journal of the Tennessee Communication Association 

The Journal of the Tennessee Communication Association (JTCA) is an open call journal for papers and Great Ideas in Teaching (GIFT) pedagogy centered on the diverse field of communication. Contributors may submit works from multiple pedagogies, perspectives, contexts, and methodologies centered on the field of communication. JTCA is a blind review so no author identification should appear in the abstract and body of submitted manuscripts. 

 

Manuscripts should not exceed 30 pages - 12-point font, Times New Roman, double spaced including references and figures, and should be written according to the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (7th edition). The manuscript should be emailed to the editor as two separate Microsoft word documents.  

 

Document 1. Title Page - should include the author's name(s), academic position, institutional affiliation, full mailing address, telephone number, email address, and preferably a brief author biography.

Document 2. Abstract and Manuscript - An abstract of not more than 150 words should accompany the manuscript. The author should also include keywords for the articles. No author identification should appear in this document. Author identified works and incomplete manuscripts will be rejected. All tables, figures, graphs, appendices, permission releases for copyrighted material must be submitted with the manuscript in document. All submissions must be original work of the author(s). Author(s) agree that the submission has not been published and is not currently under review for publication elsewhere. All submission must be designed to be inclusive and cannot contain defamatory language.
